Taco Treat in Helena

Absolutely delicious and fresh! A wonderful taste that is so different from tye bland major taco chains. Surprisingly affordable. My new go-to place when I am I Helena!

I would normally give them 5 stars but this time was the first time ever getting food in the drive thru due to Civid19. Anyway the food sat on the counter for quite a while before they handed it to us. They were still preparing 1 item it took forever and food was cold and soggy. I will return when I can eat inside with fresh food. 😎

We have only eaten there twice, but not impressed. Food was mediocre, place needs a good cleaning. If you want fast food Mexican, go to Taco John's. If you are looking for restaurant style Mexican food, go to one of the full service restaurants.

Delicious for all the right non-Mexican food reasons. It's its own nationality of cuisine and it's tasty as hell!

Nummy tacos! Almost the best in town!

Went in shortly after the dinner rush and had great food with great service! It seems they've changed a little with the new owners and I loved it.

Terrible service, the restaurant is filthy, and we ended up waiting over an hour and a half for our food. Don't make the same mistake we did, just go eat somewhere else.

We had nachos and an Indian taco, the nachos were good, but the Indian taco does not measure up to the tacos that come off of the rez where I live, it was okay for city folk

Good food and the hot sauce

It's really disappointing to see how many bad reviews there are. I used to work at Taco Treat and it was a great place to be in the food was great because I know I cooked it well. Since they sold two new owners it seems the place has really gone down. Such a shame

Used to be great. Now I constantly get overcooked food. Menu listing for a regular drink shows 16 oz but is more like 10 oz. If you want good, authentic Mexican food for even cheaper, go to Neveah's on 11th

First time visit. Food was tasty and the service very personable.

They use American cheese on everything even down to the cheese enchiladas. Call them and they'll confirm. Horrifying if you want at least a semblance of Mexican food in Helena. Everything turns into a gelatinous disaster after 20 minutes.

Absolutely terrible service period. Waited over 40 min in the drive through to get cold food, half the order was missing, and the lady replied with we have a new cook yet I seen at least 5 people, with maybe a few customers eating in, standing around "working" basically talking amongst themselves as far as I could see. Ridiculous and will not be returning anytime soon.

If you like velveeta-type cheese, this is your spot. Quality is minimal.

The ground beef had very little flavor. It seems they rely on the sauce to spice the taco.

Driving through Helena to Utah,I convinced my family to try something new. I ended up apologizing to them the entire time. We have never had such bland food. My Jose salad had it seemed an entire cup of of sour cream on it, canned unseasoned chicken, strange cheese and was very tasteless. The taco in a bag my daughter ordered was basically a bag of corn chips with a bit of unseasoned beef. My husbands comment to his #4 was “Have these people never heard of cumin? This is absolutely tasteless.” We so wanted to like this place, we are easy to please kind of people, but our meal was so disappointing and sad. It will be memorable, but for the wrong reasons. Too bad.

This place was horrible they forgot an order from one in our group and even after we told them they still forgot again to make it they prefered to talk to each other be on cell phonesand did not provide good customer service.

Depending on the store management in helena you can gwt good service i know the ones in great falls are amazing

I used to love this place! Lately their food taste different and it is super salty and I am almost positive that the guy who took my order in the drive thru was drunk. He had me repeat my order four times cuz he said he forgot what it was. He even told me his mind was messed up today. Probaly why my order wasn’t right but we all have those days I guess otherwise it’s not a bad place.

worst experience I've ever had in a restaurant!! waited over an hour for food ordered a f still had other customers ahead of us. instead of pitching in, the manager left through the back door. will NEVER return! we asked for and received a refund thank god THAT only took 10 minutes

I had the loaded tater tots, which were good. Cashier was friendly. Food just took a long time to come out, about 20 minutes for my single order with other orders being served to groups who had ordered after me.

Have only been here a couple of times and have always enjoyed their food but after the remodel I have noticed a little slip in their quality.

Very quick service & good food.

Hit and miss. The Tater supreme was great. Tacos were ok. But the burritos and enchiladas were rough. Would of been happier with enchilada hamburger helper. If you want tater tot nachos go for it. Skip most everything else.

This is really overpriced for the quality. The processed cheese product is pretty digesting and I generally love cheese sauce and queso. Just bad food. Literally the worst tex-mex I have ever had.

The drive through attendant greeted us with a "welcome to taco Bell...I mean taco John's...I mean taco treat..." He then gave us our food at the window and we stopped next door to double check our order.... Shocker he forgets two items after not remembering where he is employed at. We went back and let him know they forgot items and they brought them out claiming it was a "dumb blonde moment". Then when we went to eat our beef tacos as we drive off, we realized all six of them were chicken instead. To put a cherry on top the drink cups leaked all over it car. Terrible experience. If I could give zero stars I would.

Best Mexican food North of the Border. Family favourite and we can’t drive by a town that has one. Great food and great value.

Went through the drive thru and ordered nachos. He put the supreme nachos on the bill instead. When I got up to the window I told him I said just the normal nachos and he said i didn't say that and I was basically lying. He was very rude and I don't recommend anyone going there I know I won't.

Do not recommend. The food I had was not great. I had the chicken tacos, the chicken was bland not much flavor. The rice looked and tasted like the rice I get at my college cafeteria “not good”.

My daughter and I ordered a simple drive- through lunch for 2. A half hour later, our order was handed through the window. I persisted in waiting only because a full line of vehicles also waited patiently; I thought, "It must be really good if this many people are willing to wait." The employee didn't make eye contact, just said, "Sorry about the wait!" We ate our lunches at home. Within hours, both of us experienced severe upset stomachs that lasted a day. We will never return, although we pass by Taco Treat several times a week.

Always consistent food, we come shopping in Helena and its our favorite place to stop for lunch.

Grew up in great falls, but live in Maryland. Always make a trip to taco treat when I'm back in Montana visiting family. Tastes the same as when I was a kid. The beef enchiladas and beef tacos are my go-to order, although the beef and cheese tostadas are delicious too. If you've never been then give it a try. Inexpensive and tastes delicious.
